This sanitary sewer extension and sewage pump station project was advanced primarily to service one particular commercial facility that was experiencing repeated failures of their large capacity on-site sewage disposal system. Due to the extreme rural nature of the community, a low-impact design consisting of a simple, yet efficient, natural colored prepackage pump station was incorporated without the imposing security fencing and pavement associated with a typical facility.

The improvements were designed and constructed within the State Route 7 right-of-way by a local construction firm. During the construction period critical traffic management and limited hours of operation were necessitated to mitigate congestion on the busy route of travel.

Significant bedrock was encountered within extremely close proximity to the highway. Significant restrictions and very specific scheduling of shots were necessary to mitigate damages to the roadway and to maintain safe conditions for traffic. Shot rock was processed for reuse on the project.
