Loureiro prepared an Integrated Contingency Plan (ICP) for Hamilton Sundstrand Corporation in order to provide emergency responders with procedures and protocols to be used in the event of an emergency to reduce hazards to human health and the environment and to meet regulatory requirements for emergency planning. The types of incidents covered in the ICP included fire, explosion, chemical and waste release, homeland security threat, airport emergencies, and natural disasters. The ICP was developed using the National Response Team’s Integrated Contingency Plan Guidance, or “One Plan” guidance.

In developing the ICP, Loureiro staff members used their expertise in multiple regulatory programs to integrate various regulatory requirements into a single document. Regulatory programs incorporated into the Hamilton Sundstrand Corporation ICP include EPA Risk Management Plan requirements, EPA and State of Connecticut requirements for hazardous waste contingency plans, OSHA Emergency Action Plan requirements and, OSHA Process Safety management requirements. In addition, Loureiro incorporated current Hamilton Sundstrand Corporation work practices into the ICP
