                                      Willgoos Facility
                                 The Andrew Willgoos Turbine Laboratory is located on Pent Road 
                             at the UTC/Pratt & Whitney Facility in East Hartford, Connecticut. 
                           The Laboratory was designed and constructed specifically to test 
                        uninstalled engines and their components. Laboratory facilities provide 
                     air in the desired quantity, pressure and temperature to simulate realistic 
                   flight conditions at various altitudes.

           Project Summary:
      The central heating plant for the facility was in the process of being decommissioned.  Several buildings which were
   to remain occupied required a stand alone source of heating steam.  BJFW consulting engineers presented several options 
 and after careful review, the client selected a factory fabricated packaged boiler system.  The 250HP fire tube boiler system 
was delivered to the site and consisted of:

       • a chemical feed system,     • makeup air heater,

       • boiler feedwater system      • ventilation system,

       • water softener                     • power distribution system and controls
       • blowdown system,

    Final connections for gas, water, sanitary, and electrical were made by the installing contractor.
