With more than a century of experience, ELECTRIC BOAT has established standards of 
   excellence in the design, construction and lifecycle support of submarines for the U.S.
 Navy. Primary operations are the shipyard in Groton, CT, and the automated 
hull-fabrication and outfitting facility in Quonset Point, RI, with a current 
workforce of 11,300 employees. The Groton shipyard has two major functions, first, 
submarine design and engineering; and second, submarine assembly, test and delivery.

Project Summary:
BJFW Consulting Engineers provided mechanical and electrical engineering 
services in Building 88 on the Electric Boat campus. The following services were provided
                
 • fresh air make-up by replacing the existing fresh air make-up units with increased capacity;
  • expand fresh air distribution to each floor;
   • increase the building air exhaust rate from the rest room areas to balance air 
      flows with the make-up airmodifications;
       • modify rest room exhaust systems on each floor.
